experiencias dentro de fronteras

There is a lot to unpack here - but my hope is to bring inspiration from some of my experiences within borders. (What mask will you wear today?) During these times, masks have served as a sign of respect for one another, as well as a means of keeping us safe, what about the masks we already put on each day in order to move through these borders with more ease? With more fluidity? For instance, I have had fluidity across the Mexicali-Calexico border since I was a child and with this flexibility within this liminal space I have grown to understand my immense privilege (US Citizenship mask). To live in this queer space, in the in-between has been an incredible journey and I am looking forward to understanding how to queer the spaces I’m in even more. Making this work, the process, the actual choreography, piecing it all together has been incredibly humbling. I thank my family for the rhythms they have shown me and fostered in gatherings.
I would love to talk to anyone about my work, what it means to dance in the dizziness and my processes.
